The Right Cord For Your Communication Needs

These days, a single household can have a lot of telephones located in various rooms where family members are likely to be around. Even offices can have multiple telephone lines to meet the demands of air coupling everyday communication with clients and business partners. To achieve those purposes, there are different phone cord types that allow you to make the most of your main telephone and extension lines in your home or office.
Benefits of phone cords
Phone cords are wiring devices that connect your phone to the wall jack as well as the headset and handset. The different phone cord types allow you to achieve different purposes like connecting 2 phone lines together or connecting them to modems. There are also longer varieties for extension lines just in case the wall jack is far from the area where you want your phone to be.
Types of phone cords
Phone cords are identified as modular connectors in the United States, which means that they are plugged to a phone even without opening its housing or case. The sizes and designs vary according to your needs and the phone that they are going to be used for. In the US, the most common ones include the RJ-14, RJ-11, and the RJ-12.
RJ-14 cords consist of 4 wires but the ones that are very common in homes are RJ-11 types with 6 connector jacks with 2 pins. Meanwhile, the RJ-12 looks like the RJ-11 but it consists of 4 pins. The extra wires are for particular phone systems so you can tell that another line is in use.
